Synnovis appoints new CEO
The appointment reflects the strategic importance of Synnovis to both SYNLAB UK & Ireland and SYNLAB Group, and signals the next stage in the delivery of its agreed operating model.
Tom has served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of SYNLAB UK & Ireland since 2021, a role he will retain alongside this new appointment. He joined the business in 2018 as Chief Financial Officer and has been instrumental in the development and execution of the organisation’s strategy and growth.
Tom Evans, Chief Executive Officer, Synnovis, said:
“I am delighted to be taking on this new role, and excited about the bright future ahead of us at Synnovis.
As an organisation operating at the cutting edge of pathology services, our people support excellence in patient care and deliver innovation which shapes the future of diagnostics. I am proud to be part of this team and very much looking forward to the next steps we’ll take together.”
Synnovis is a joint venture partnership between SYNLAB UK & Ireland, Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Established in 2021 to transform the delivery of pathology services in South East London, Synnovis now operates from one of the UK’s largest pathology ‘hubs’ which was purpose built in Blackfriars, London. This hub is supported by six Trust site Essential Services Laboratories and the scientific, clinical and operational expertise of more than 2,000 employees.
